5 Ways to Wear A White Tee

theyalljateus

Pair a loose fitting, worn tee with baggy denim cuffed at the ankle and chic heels for a rough yet refined look!

The white T-Shirt is quite arguably one of the very best ways to show off layers of necklaces (aside from a seductive bare neck/chest combo!) However, the white T-Shirt can also get a little, for lack of a better word, boring. Enter: this post! We’ve scoured the web (and thought back to our own past outings) to show you how to wear your crisp whites, worn in favorites, and everything in between in fresh new ways!

So, scroll down and don’t forget to load up on necklaces to layer over your newfound fashion sense!

Pair a basic yet luxe feeling top with sleek leather shorts and pile on the gold chains for the perfect balance of streamlined glamour. Gold accessories up the ante.

Go bold- Wear a bandeau top OVER your tee!

OK so that last look is a little out there, but hey! It’s summer yet we still have places to go that aren’t the pool or beach, so take that bikini with you. We think this looks calls for an extravagant choker. The jewelry must match your apparent bravado.

Want something dressier? Throw that basic shirt on with a high waisted, floor length skirt and your highest heels, put hands on hips and feel the drama like never before.

Need a summer suit for work that can easily transition to happy hour? Put an untucked gauzy tee under a cream-colored, wide leg suit with cool asymmetrical details and look fashion forward on the outside yet feel supremely comfortable on the inside. Pair with a sleek layered necklace and a decidedly messy updo.

All in all, with the right amount of confidence, your favorite white tee can become a fashionable staple in a whole new way. The clean lines and neutral color make it the easiest way to dress anything up or down, with the right accessories.

Mario Testino Displays His Photos of Beautiful Native Peruvian Clothing

Screen shot 2013-11-21 at 4.46.13 PM

Famed photographer Mario Testino took a different turn with his highly acclaimed work to capture the breathtakingly colorful clothing of Native Peruvians of the mountainous region of Cusco. His exhibit is called “Alta Moda” or High Fashion in Spanish. The fabulous photos will be on display at the Queen Sophia Spanish Institute in New York until March 29th, 2014. The images are vivid and truly inspirational. The color and texture, along with musical and cultural elements really set these photos apart from lots of mainstream fashion photography.

Queen Sofía Spanish Institute, under the chairmanship of Oscar de la Renta, is the first American venue to present ALTA MODA, a series of photographic portraits by acclaimed photographer Mario Testino. Known primarily for his work in fashion magazines, Testino makes a bold departure with this series. Alta Moda—literally “high fashion” in Spanish—documents Peruvians in their vibrantly colored and ornately adorned traditional and festive dress from Cusco, one of the highest mountainous regions of Peru. ALTA MODA by Mario Testino is accompanied by a series of related public programs that will additionally serve to reinforce the Institute’s mission of promoting greater awareness and understanding of the culture of Spain in the United States through a steadfast dedication to advancing scholarship in the humanities and the arts. Please check the website www.qssi.org for a schedule of events.

So, if you happen to be in the city during the next 4 months, take a day to mosey on over to the exhibit. For now, check out some of the photos below!

Cecilia’s Story

Cecilia Gonzales - Jewelry Designer

Cecilia was born in Lima, Peru. Her mother’s side of the family included artists, musicians and crafters by tradition, so she was naturally inclined to develop her own artistic sensibilities.

Fashion has been her passion; so right out of high school she enrolled in fashion design school and started making clothing and accessories for herself and the people she loves.

As she moved to the USA in 2001, enjoying being exposed to so much diversity all around, in the cities, new ideas, people from all over the world…it didn’t take long for her to realize that designing and fashion were the right things.

So in 2008, Cecilia Gonzales Jewelry was born. Each new collection has its own life and story. Cecilia draws inspiration from art, cities, music, architecture and awesome people around her.
